The baby battle brims once again. Let us fight for life.

It is the time for a serious introspection of ourselves as a nation. Who are we bowing to? Whose side are we on? This decision is at hand. I want the government as a body to know that there are Jamaicans who are fighting for the Kingdom of God, for the battle is on. Our commitment to God supersedes politics; supersedes prosperity; supersedes everything that stands in the way of being obedient to God.

Why would any government want to decriminalize such an offence against life as abortion? My readers, let us revisit definitions. What is abortion? Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. It is a simple fact: A human being who is pregnant is carrying a child within her womb. This child is an innocent unborn human being that is developing in the mother’s womb. It is medically known that from the first four weeks of pregnancy the eyes, nose, digestive system and nervous system are being formed and the heart begins to function. In light of these facts, it is absurd for some to attempt to dehumanize the developing child because of its location. Stages of development continue both in the womb, just as children outside of the womb continue to do into adulthood. How dare mortal men to have the audacity to terminate such a vulnerable life. The individual in the womb is a person, not a non-living thing.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:12 that:

Such will be the spread of evil that many people’s love will grow cold.

Even though Scripture is being fulfilled, this is the time for God’s people to call people to repentance. This is our mandate. We must spread the Word. To those who are in authority, I call upon you not to forget that God is the One who creates human beings, and in Proverbs 6:16-19 it tells us that one of the things that God hates are hands that shed innocent blood.

Take heed. Do the right thing.

There is no regret in obeying God.
