The importance of FAITH in unleashing God's power in our lives.

FAITH:

This is one trait that is constantly repeated in the Bible. "Without FAITH it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6), "Our FAITH is the victory that overcomes the world." (1 John 5:4), "Your FAITH has made you well" (Mark 5:34, 10:52; Luke 17:19). From all these examples and more, we can see the great power and multi-purpose nature of faith; that with having even a seemingly 'small' size of faith, Jesus promises that even if we have the size of faith as small as a mustard seed, we can move mountains in our lives.

The amount of faith we have can directly affect how much of God's power we see in our lives. We see many instances of this in the Bible. We can reflect on Daniel's confident statement of knowing God would rescue him because He knew he was innocent amidst being thrown into the den of lions, and God indeed sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths (Daniel 6:22). Conversely, the Nazarenes did not get to see Jesus performing many miracles for them because of their lack of faith. Similarly, when Peter started to doubt God's power to make him walk on water, he began to sink.

How much faith we have can even influence the effectiveness of our prayers. In our Christian life, faith in God is a powerful weapon, that, if weak, we stand more vulnerable to the devil's attacks.

Our faith can even sustain us when we are sick. Many of us as Christians, myself included, acknowledge God's awesome power: we read about miracles in the Bible, we know theoretically that we serve the God who made this great, vast universe, yet we still often find ourselves worrying or feeling downcast when times of trouble arise. Jesus often scolded His own disciples - those who repeatedly saw His miraculous power - for their lack of faith.

I have increasingly come to realize that true and acceptable faith does not merely consist of a belief in God, but should be translated in an active mindset that through whatever we face, God really is in control and He is always faithful to His promises.

When we have full confidence in the power of God, God will begin to further reveal Himself, and we will begin to see in an even more powerful and vivid way God's presence in our lives.
