MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD!

Jesus commanded His disciples to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matt. 28:19).

The world is large, but if we each spread God's Word in our own corner, soon the whole world will be filled with God's message!

Here are a few tips of practical ways YOU can do to make a positive difference.

  • Be the example: It is so often said that Christians are no better than the world. Sadly, the reality of our world is that many churchgoers so frequently conform themselves to the world's standard in their speech, dressing, and behaviour. Although we all sin, God is calling each of us to perfection. Every day, look into yourself and pray for God's forgiveness. Live a life that is exemplary to others, so they will see the Christ in you. You may just happen to influence one of your friends or family members!

  • Learn how to effectively defend your faith in God: Critics are everywhere: on your facebook friend list, on television, even in your church. Society nowadays is full of people who question God and the Bible. Now more than ever every Christian needs to know how to give an answer to everyone who asks of the hope that is in us (1 Peter 3:15). Sharpen your skills by reading the Bible everyday as often as possible, and by learning the information shared on this site and other Christian faith defence sites.

  • Use your talents to the glory of God: Many of us know the parable of the talents in the New Testament, where the Master left His servants with different amounts of talents (money) and expected them to give Him larger returns upon Jesus' return. Well, in our daily lives as an application, we have each been blessed by God with unique gifts. If you love to write, why not start a Christian blog? If you are good at programming computer apps, why not make a creative Bible game? At your workplace, whatever your field, look for ways to glorify God in your work. Whether you are good at singing, drawing, writing, web design or programming, doing research, investigative science - whatever your strength, whatever your field, God gave us each our gifts and areas of interest(s) to use for His glory (1 Corinthians 10:31).

  • Hand out Christian literature: Walking in the mall, going to class at school, even waiting at the hairdresser or barber, we come across many persons - both saved and unsaved. Even in our brief daily meetings with people we may or may not know personally, you may be surprised at the difference just speaking about God or handing out Christian literature may very well change their lives for the better, or at least cause one pause to think about God. Sharing a verse about God's love and His plan of Salvation to those you meet is a wonderful way to shine God's light in your daily life, or download some Christian flyers/brochures here from our site!

  • Join or start your own Christian ministry: Participating in Christian ministry is an excellent way to make a direct positive influence on those around, especially the less fortunate. There are several existing ministries around the world which welcome volunteers to be part of their team. Perhaps you are not close to Christian ministry groups in your area, or not aware of any, then, why not start your own? Starting a ministry may seem like a mountain to many, especially youths. But just like almost every task, when you start, it is easier to continue. If you feel like God is calling you to feed the poor, visit the sick or orphans or minister to prisoners, don't hesitate. There are many hurting people who need to see the love of God in action.

  • Write to your daily newspaper and make good use of social media: Our society is filled with images and messages promoting what is evil which are taking the mass media by storm. Instead of simply ignoring what is going on or quietly complaining to yourself and family, why not make God's position heard in the media? Use call-in radio programmes to share a bible verse or a message from God, share encouraging posts on facebook, twitter and other social media sites, write a letter to your local newspaper editorial - someone may just be positively impacted!

  • Pray and fast: This is by far one of the most effective ways to make a difference. Never underestimate the power of prayer and fasting. Pray daily about the evils in society and that God intervenes. Pray for yourself and fellow Christians also so we may all help strengthen God's Kingdom here on earth.
